Medicare is public health insurance, provided through Social Security. This is for all health care that is “medically necessary”, but not for long-term care. It covers mostly short-term hospital visits, rehabilitation programs, and therapy care up to 100 days. Medicaid meanwhile will pay for long-term health care, but only if you qualify.
